Hawks Beat Regina

The Hawks defeated Regina with a strong offense effort today. Becca was 2 for 2 with a single, double, and a walk. Lissy went 2 for 3 with two singles. But it was Zoey's big hit down the first base line with bases loaded that was the offensive highlight of the game. The ball got past the right fielder, and because of Zoey's speed, she was waved home and called safe at the plate. This was the team's first grand slam this year.

The Hawks face Fremd on Friday.

Zoey Spoils Trevians' Perfect Game

The only batter to reach base for the Hawks was Zoey in a 1-0 loss to New Trier. Despite the loss, the Hawks' defense never looked better. Maine South completed three double plays to hold the #1 ranked Trevians to just one run. After the Trevians scored in the second inning, the Hawks tightened up their defense and held the opponent from several scoring threats. Zoey's single in the 6th inning prevented a perfect game for the New Trier pitcher.

Christina's Hot Bat Sparks Hawk Offense

Christina went 3 for 4, giving the Hawks' offense a much needed boost. She had two doubles and a single, drove in a run, and scored a run in the Hawks' win over Evanston. Julia and Lauren also had a great day at the plate, each with a pair of singles. Julia drove in a run and scored a run. With a big RBI double, Steph helped to secure the win, scoring two runs on the day. The win pretty much wraps up a 4th place finish in the CSL South for the Hawks.
